Another miniature food dish for Christine, this piece is for 18" doll scales (my second piece in this scale) and I'm very fond of how it turned out. The only things that are attached are the food in the roast pan, the rest of them are all unattached and can be placed on any type of plate that Christine's daughter chooses. The center plate contains potato peels, how cute is that? I loved making this although it did take me the better part of 2 hours to complete.

American Girl Ham
I've been making some miniatures for my friend Christine who works with my sister. She commissioned a ton of pieces for her daughter for Christmas only I couldn't work on them until now because I was so busy with the AGAIM show. Now that I have had some time to sit down, I made this. It's not attached to the plate and the four pieces of ham on the end can be moved anywhere while the rest are attached to each other. This is my first venture in miniature for the scale of 18" dolls. It's for American Girls.

Our First Show
Well, we did it. I struggled for months to make enough food for the show. I was staying up until 3-4am every night trying to get enough done for this. I had no idea what to expect, other than a table and some potential customers. We received a great reception. :) I met some CDHMers (some who did not realize who I was and I was too embarrassed to introduce reveal my CDHMness) and I met some really prominent figures in Michigan and National Miniatures.
The first day was hectic but we soon settled in at our table and we even enjoyed ourselves a little. We were disappointed with sales on Friday (partly due to our inhibiting setup which was changed on Saturday), but we figured that Saturday would be better and it was. We met loads of folks from the area and hopefully we'll get a bigger Miniatures group going than what we've already got. I learned a lot about show etiquette, dealers, etc. and most people were friendly with us although a few didn't seem interested in chatting and were not very open to us newcomers until later on Saturday. I met so many new people and I'm horrible with name and face correlations but I hope I can remember them all when I see them next.
The question remains now, do we go to Chicago? Time will tell, I'm still in a flutter about this show let alone another one! Where do we go from here? I hope the answer is up! :)

Miniature French Bread
I made 15 loaves of miniature French bread from polymer clay last night. Each loaf has 2 slices cut from it, one of the slices is the butt of the loaf. I then spent some time organizing the miniatures on the display rack for my show. I have not nearly enough stuff for the show but I'll keep on truckin'! I hope to make some peanut butter cookies tonight. I also made approximately 30 miniature garden snails for the show, too. The display rack is looking more full than it has in previous weeks but it's still not enough. I found out my best friend won't be able to help run the show as she's going to be in surgery that day, but my niece has planned to come and help me with the booth. Halloween this year is going to be so much fun! Go check out my sister's blog at pumpkinsnthings.blogspot.com to see all of the cool stuff we're building. Harry Potter here we come!
